After a really strong performance at the finals of the Canterbury Secondary Schools Athletics, a team of nine gained selection to compete at the South Island Athletics.

These were held in Timaru last weekend in what turned out to be perfect conditions.

All students competed well and finished with excellent results.

Tyler Dempsey – 5th in 100m Final with a PB 12.10 sec

Relay Team – 8th in Final with a PB in the Semi of 48.38 sec

Adi McGoon – 6th in Discus with a PB of 23.48m

Zachary McNevin – 6th in Javelin with a PB of 33.58m

Jayton Lawrie – 8th in Javelin with a PB of 31.88m

Cecilia Taotua Lavea – 7th in Javelin with a throw of 22.03m

Aimee Musson-Polwart – 9th in Javelin with a throw of 20.21m

The students and staff appreciated all the parents who accompanied and supported them in this major event.
