Learning on the job in school
Student learns on the job as new computers are installed
Year 9 student Jackson spent time over this latest term break working with our IT support team from Fusion installing 22 new desk top computers. Jackson’s passion for the IT industry was fed as he joined members of the team in a week long install process.
These new machines will offer higher performance, and include two very ‘high spec’ machines that will support student exploration of virtual reality. They have replaced the aging machines that have served us for over 6 years, and are the result of a Board decision to resource and support the growing student interest in information technology within the school. Students now explore augmented reality, coding and programming, robotics, and game design, amongst other things, and the two new high spec machines will allow those next steps into virtual reality.
Jackson showed off the best of our school values of Commitment, Achievement, Resilience, and Respect. #manahoromaka #hornbypride
