Board of Trustees

Hornby High School Board of Trustees is a Crown entity.  The Board of Trustees is a group of individuals either elected by the community, or appointed by the Board itself. They meet on the first Monday of each month. Meetings are open to the public to attend. 

It  is responsible for the school’s governance,  and works in partnership with the school management. The Board is accountable to parents and the local community and has responsibility for making sure that all Government requirements are met.

These include:

  • Developing the school’s vision statement and strategic goals. The Board works in partnership with the Community, Principal, Teachers, Support Staff, and students, to ensure the best possible outcomes for all students.

  • Making decisions about school property, finances, personnel, curriculum, and administration. 

  • Our school policies, the link to these can be found on our school website under School Docs.

  • Responsibility for providing a safe environment and quality education for all our students.
