Sports at Hornby High School is looking incredible. Lots of young athletes doing what they love!

First off, we would like to give a special mention and congratulations to Kyra-Lee Westland Year 12 who made the Canterbury U18 Girls Red Squad. Proud moment for Kyra-Lee and her family.

The Winter Tournament Week is a much anticipated event for Secondary School Sports in Aotearoa. It has been exciting to see the results from both our teams. Congratulations to our Senior boy’s Basketball team who competed at the South Island Secondary New Zealand Premiership A Tournament in Dunedin. Placing Runners up qualifying them to attend Nationals in Palmerston North 3rd October – 7th October. Incredible results from our boys and coaching/management staff. Great to have ex Hornby High student Brandon Gray coaching alongside experienced and well knowledgeable head coach Jimmy Williamson. Well done to you all. We are so proud of you. Best of luck for Nationals.

Well done to our Senior girls Netball team. Starting off strong at the South Island Secondary School Netball tournament. Winning 5 games in their pool. It was exciting to watch the growth and development within the players. Finishing 7th place out of 16 in their grade. Coached by Mrs Tafau and Ms Taylor.
