Hornby High School

Learning Commons

The library is located in The Learning Commons area adjacent to the main entrance and student cafeteria.

There is a wide range of reading and research material for all reading abilities. Graphic Novels and Quick Reads include books suitable for those with Dyslexia. Our collection continues to grow within our new space. Student Librarians and Book Club plan eye catching book, author and topic displays and students have input purchasing new resources. The books available are targeted to provide enjoyable reading.

Fiction & Senior Fiction

Fiction and Senior Fiction titles provide exciting stories to foster reading skills. Senior Fiction titles are especially selected to meet NCEA requirements and feature stronger themes. At any time we can borrow and do so regularly, from the National Library to support learning enquiry and reading engagement.

Non-Fiction

The Non-fiction information books support classroom learning as well as providing interesting material for those who prefer to read about the world around them. There is a large collection of books to support Māori studies interest.
