Canterbury Polyfest

On Saturday 13th March the Hornby High School Polyfest group gave an amazing performance at the Canterbury Polyfest in Christchurch.

They worked hard fundraising, and practising every day, even on the weekends! Year 13 students, Lenora, Ofa, Michelle, and Jesy led from the front, giving up their time to come up with the performance.

We were grateful to have Tama Mai Saute Dance Academy supporting the group, coming in to school each Monday to work with the students.

Comment from the Polyfest Committee and the general public was that Hornby High School truly displayed the meaning of Polyfest. Their performance incorporated Cook Island, Fijian, Tongan, Kapa Haka, and Samoan, performances.

The students were supported by a third of the staff who came out on the weekend to cheer them on.
